Blackheath and the Wild Blue Yonder

Just a few minutes drive in any direction from the Motor Inn can be found great expanses of the Blue Mountains. Stand on top of escarpments and gaze for kilometres into the wild wilderness of the Blue Mountains National Park. Govett’s Leap lookout, Pulpit Rock and the Shipley Plateau all provide wonderful vistas. Breathtaking walks abound with the Grand Canyon and Porters Pass the most popular.

Megalong Valley, just a 10 minute drive, takes you through lush rain forest to many horse riding opportunities or bush walking on the Six Foot Track. You may be lucky enough to sight kangaroos or other native animals

Blackheath township itself provides a variety of shops for the antique and curio buyer. Delicatessen and food stores provide all your exotic picnic needs. Cafes cater for morning/afternoon teas and lunches. There is also a wide range of restaurants from gourmet to take-away to suit your budget and fine dining requirements.

Blackheath Motor Inn is the ideal place to set out from for a day’s drive. Choose from the world famous Jenolan Caves, the Three Sisters or Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens. You can also visit the other Mountain townships, each with their own special features.
